1. Describe the stasis in the play: where, when, who, what, etc. in a paragraph.
The play opens in one Lil Bit's memories as a 17 year old in the car with Uncle Peck. The play is in a series of memories and flashbacks of her experience in small town Maryland during the 1960s and 70s. 2. What is the intrusion?
The play is not in chronological order so it is hard to see where the play really kicks off but I think that is the first time that Lil Bit is abused when she is 11. Being that her abuse is one of the central topics of the play this is what really establishes the horrible relationship she has with Uncle Peck. 3. What is the unique factor?
This is the day tat Lil Bit decides to face her past head on and delve into the relationship she had with Uncle Peck while narrating this to the audience. 4. What is the dramatic question that should be answered by the end of the play?
How has this effected Lil Bit? Who is she now in light of this? How does her relationship with Peck develop? 5. Provide an illustration of the two kinds of exposition that the play has in it.
The first kind is what the audience knows about Lil Bit at the very beginning of the play while the second kind is revealed to us by Lil Bit as her flashbacks play out. 6. Identify the most theatrical moment in the play and of what importance it seems to be.
I think the most theatrical moment is when Lil Bit really takes back control from Peck and ends their relationship. Being that she is the victim of sexual abuse from an older man he is really calling the shots and deciding how things go but Lil Bit finally takes the control from him. 7. List some of the themes of the play.
A theme of the play is coming of age we witness Lil Bit really grow up in front of us and dsevelop. We also see how her experiences have affected her as she becomes a youjng woman. Another theme is overcoming one's past because we see Lil Bit face her past and try to break free of it. 8. Choose the character of Li'l Bit in the show and articulate what she wants and what are some obstacles that stand in the way of her getting what she wants?
I think Lil Bit wants to be free of the negative effects of her relationship with Uncle Peck however, she faces an obstacle because her family made her feel extremely insecure and were detrimental to her self esteem and her relationship with Uncle Peck made her feel "sexy" and "wanted". I think she struggles to let go of this and accept herself for who she is without the opinions of Uncle Peck and the rest of her family. 9. Describe some possible images in the play and how does the title help us understand the play.
a major image in the play is the car.
